Harris has formed a team to compete for a six-and-a-half-year, $455 million contract to provide operations and maintenance support to the 50th Space Wing’s Air Force Satellite Control Network at locations around the world.

Northrop Grumman wins $256.6 million Marine Corps contract

The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation a contract valued at $256.6 million to develop its new Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar, which consolidates the missions of five Marine Corps radars into a single multi-role radar system. The scope of work during this first program phase includes system development, fabrication and test of the Increment I system, low rate initial production of two G/ATOR systems and full-rate production of an additional 15 systems, and logistics support. The Marine Corps’ end state objective is a total of 63 G/ATOR systems.

Northrop Grumman awarded Air Force C-5 Galaxy contract

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman a $10 million contract to provide technical services for the C-5 Galaxy’s Avionics Modernization Program and the Reliability Engineering and Re-engining Program. The five-year contract has a base year with four one-year options.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will provide acquisition and engineering analysis management process support, logistics/sustainment technical services, and test planning. The work will be done at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

DRS receives $14 million Marine battle tank contract

DRS received a $14 million contract to produce Sidecar Embedded Diagnostic Kits for the U.S. Marine Corps entire fleet of battle tanks. Deliveries of the kits are expected to start immediately and continue through December 2008.

DRS receives $52 million digitization systems contract

DRS has received a $52 million contract to provide rugged Appliqué Computer Systems and peripheral equipment for the U.S. Army’s Force XXI Battle Command, Brigade and Below program. The company’s DRS Tactical Systems unit in Melbourne will produce the computer systems, including more than 5,700 processors, 5,800 display units, 5,300 keyboards, 6,700 hard disk drives and 1,400 rugged, solid-state hard disk drives.

Boeing to produce 18 Army Apaches

Boeing and the U.S. Army have signed a $276.4 million contact for 18 new AH-64D Apache Longbow multi-role combat helicopters. The contract raises to 45 the number of new-build Apache Longbows on order with the U.S. Army. The U.S. Army also recently contracted for the remanufacture of 96 AH-64A Apaches into AH-64Ds. The new aircrafts are in addition to the 501 remanufactured AH-64D Apache Longbows built between 1997 and 2006 under two five-year, multi-year contracts.

Air Berlin selects Rockwell Collins avionics

Air Berlin has selected the Rockwell Collins MultiScan Hazard Detection System, Multi Mode Receiver and Passenger Address Unit for 85 Boeing 737NG aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2008. The system is the first and only weather radar in the market, which analyzes and determines actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content.

Rockwell Collins avionics selected by Singapore

The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s C-130 fleet has selected Rockwell Collins to provide an integrated avioniccommunication/navigation/ surveillance and air traffic solution. The program will provide the avionics solution for 10 Singapore C-130 aircraft. As the avionics provider for the Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 Avionics upgrade program, Rockwell Collins provides technology that prepares aircraft for changing CNS/ATM requirements.

Lockheed receives $135-million Trident contract modification

The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin a $135 million contract modification for continued work on the Trident II D5 Life Extension program. The award is in addition to the $654.9 million contract awarded to Lockheed Martin earlier this year for fiscal year 2007 production and deployed systems support for the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile program. Deliveries under the original contract, which called for production of 425 missiles, began in 1989, and the final two missiles are scheduled for delivery this year. Extension missile deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2011, with up to 108 additional missiles being delivered by 2017.

Navy renews IAP base operations contract

The U.S. Navy has renewed IAP Worldwide Services’ contract to provide base operations support services, including facilities maintenance, at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, a complex that IAP has been serving since 1994. Work under the new contract completes by October 2007, and includes options to extend the work to April 2012. The contract is valued at $83.1 million over the five-year period.
